Ich hoffe, man hoert von Schroeder, Chirac etc.
auch so ein klares Statement. Da Schroeder an
diesem Wochenende gerade den moralischen
Zeigefinger rausgenommen hat, kann er ihn auch
gleich gegen Osten wenden...

Chechens Failed to Get Free, Fair Presidential
Vote, U.S. Says

Oct. 6 (Bloomberg) -- The presidential election in
the war-torn Russian province of Chechnya, which
the favored candidate of President Vladimir Putin
won, wasn´t a free vote in line with international
benchmarks, the Bush administration said.
``The exit of all viable challengers to Akhmad
Kadyrov´s candidacy and the overt control of
Chechen media by pro-Kadyrov forces prior to
election day lead us to conclude that the election
did not meet international standards for fair and
free elections,´´ State Department spokesman
Richard Boucher said in Washington. ``We´re
disappointed by this missed opportunity.´´
