Was ist "konservativ"?

Ich weigere mich immer, mich politisch in eine bestimmte Ecke stellen zu lassen. In manchen Dingen, vor allem wenn es um Ehe und Familie geht, bin ich konservativ, in den meisten Dingen bin ich liberal bis radikalliberal und in einigen das, was man wohl "links" nennt.

Was mir in letzter Zeit die Haare zu Berge stehen lässt, ist die Begeisterung allzu vieler "Konservativer" für Trump. Hier ist das, was ich mehrmals da und dort im Internet gepostet habe. (Habe keine Lust, es zu übersetzen, so viel Englisch wird wohl jeder können.)

Wenn diese ekelerregende Drecksau (und nein, er ist kein "Politclown") "konservativ" ist, will ich nicht mehr konservativ sein.

I fail to understand how a conservative can take that man seriously.

Donald Trump gave over $100,000 to the Clinton Foundation.

Over the years, he has consistently supported Democrats over Republicans.

In 2008, Donald Trump supported Obama’s campaign.

Trump has switched parties at least five times since the 1980s. Three times since 2001.

His disgusting abuse of government power/eminent domain.

Donald Trump, in 2000 supported gun control, abortion, higher taxes and socialized healthcare.

Donald Trump stood against Pro-1st amendment Conservatives when facing radical Islam.

I don't think his private life goes together with conservative principles either.

He is nothing but an unprincipled, pathologically vain attention whore who would say anything for his five minutes in the limelight - and the opposite tomorrow if it suits his agenda. He has thwarted the chances for presidency of better (INFINITELY better) men than himself. I'd say "Go and be happy with him, America" but sadly, we in Europe are dependent on you.
